Adam Peters and the front office
Who builds Washington's roster, how Adam Peters got here, and every trade, signing, extension and release of his tenure, each with its source.
Adam Peters
A Cupertino, Calif., native who played defensive end at UCLA, Peters began his NFL career as a New England Patriots scouting assistant in 2003 and was on Super Bowl-winning staffs in New England (2003 and 2004 seasons) and Denver (Super Bowl 50). He spent 2017-23 in the San Francisco 49ers' front office, first as vice president of player personnel and then as assistant general manager under John Lynch. Washington hired him in January 2024; his first draft pick was quarterback Jayden Daniels at No. 2 overall, and his first roster went 12-5 and reached the franchise's first NFC Championship Game since the 1991 season.
Team announced the hire on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024.
